I spoke to a “financial counselor” with the hospital and she DID NOT KNOW what all these abbreviations meant! Seriously!!! So they have a “cost estimator” so I’m going to try that tool to see if the charges were reasonable.
It would be good to know what these “costs” listed on their spreadsheet mean–so that looking at the insurance contracted…[Read more]

Yes! I LOVE to guide people through MD Anderson! It has become so large since I worked there—it’s really intimidating for new patients!
Hope your client gets the care she needs!

Good morning! I’m curious as to whether anyone has contracted with an insurance broker to offer advocate services as part of an employee benefit plan? I am currently meeting with brokers locally. I am aware of one advocate that is doing this.
I am looking for guidance on how I would set that up for payment in the contract, i.e. retainer, PEPM…[Read more]

I think they started as medical malpractice insurers and have expanded into lots of other health and wellness areas. They insure birth doulas so it was a natural choice to insure death doulas too. I think birth doulas have many more liability issues than death doulas, maybe that’s why the cost is reasonable. Sometimes it’s just semantics and you…[Read more]

I’ve been emailing with them and have been unable to get them to pin down exactly what professional services they cover. Apparently, their policies are contingent on whatever state laws, regulating agencies or certifying bodies govern your scope of practice.
I am a BCPA so I asked if the Code of Responsibility would count and haven’t been able to…[Read more]

I spoke with them today and was advised that they only cover medical navigation. If you are doing anything related to insurance navigation or other cost of care navigation the CMF policy does NOT cover that kind of navigation liability.

If this man had Adriamycin (doxorubicin) for his leukemia–it’s a cardiotoxic chemotherapy with a lifetime limit. Some oncologists are not as careful as they should be with dosing–and they put the patient’s heart in jeopardy. It is a great treatment in the correct hands.

I gave them a ring and I agree with Althea that they seem nice and I would add knowledgeable.
I was quoted $381 for a $1M/$6M policy which includes prior acts.
Pat Falace is the broker I spoke with. She can be reached at 1-800-221-4904.

I’ve been using them since I started in business in early 2020. I have end-of-life doula professional liability insurance. Most of my services fall under the doula umbrella. I pay less much less for this insurance than my mediator liability with a different agency.
They are a very easy company to work…[Read more] -
