Melanie,
I was able to navigate and walk through my “Imposter Syndrome” with a little help from another advocate. I was able to speak with the Insurance and assisted client to get to her next destination. Since I am new, it was a great learning experience.
Thank you for all you do for your clients and reaching out to offer assistance for me. It is…[Read more] -

Hi Katy,
I’m not sure if you’re still looking for assistance with this issue, but, I often do conference calls to insurers with the client on the line to provide authorization to have a conversation about whatever the issue is.If you’re still desirous of assistance, please let me know as it’s in my area.

Hey, Jeff. Is this a new diagnosis for your client? COVID related?
There are many possible symptoms that go along with this diagnosis, and many possible co-morbidities that cause more symptoms.
This website https://www.potstreatmentcenter.com does a good job of laying everything out. I can’t vouch for their credibility but it’s a place to start.…[Read more] -

“She cannot live by herself”- From what I know, the issue with hospice or Palliative care is that they do not provide 24 hour care. Although these are all EXCELLENT resources, if she can’t care for herself or is not safe in the home, will they come on board? I believe it will depend on her abilities in the home without a care giver 24/7.

Anyone have success stories for treatment of POTS? I have a client who is seeking treatment and is willing to travel.

If her doctor’s / providers feel that her conditions give her a life expectancy of 6 months or less, yes a referral to Hospice would be a very good idea. At minimum, has she had a referral yet to Palliative Care? If she is not yet a hospice candidate, palliative care could be very helpful providing direction towards available resources in the…[Read more]

I noticed that no one has responded to your inquiry. I don’t have any experience with this product, but I did find some helpful information from Penguin Cold Caps at https://penguincoldcaps.com/cold-cap-info/are-cold-caps-covered-by-insurance/. Here is what they say:
Insurance Coverage for Cold Capping or Scalp Cooling is currently not fully…[Read more]

Barbara, good for you for ‘putting your oxygen mask on first.’ I meet your criteria except I’m a PT rather than RN, MD, or SW. I’m in the Seattle area and focus on medical navigation, both in- and out-patient.
