I know when I’ve had similar obstacles, I make sure all communication is in writing and not phone calls because it gets shoved under the carpet. If things escalate and management is broken down, I usually file a grievance in the hospital or facility and if a family wants to go further I make them aware of CDPH grievances.

My thought is it doesn’t take six days to get a sensitivity back. It takes 72 hours. Not sure what the six day delay was also, since he has a history of liver disease, I would ask for an ammonia level to rule out other possibilities. ? Brain scan? Good question Kathy, I guess it wouldn’t so much be subcontracting as, she does her part and I take care of my part ie; advocating with the transition of care and whatever advocacy the client feels she needs after our consultation
