Why are they suing?
I have had success with several Kaiser clients where we got what Kaiser was unwilling to do (e.g., being treated outside of Kaiser, getting second opinions outside of Kaiser, getting treatment faster and with more diagnostic testing than what Kaiser wanted, etc.).

I have a client that is in arbitration with Kaiser in California and she is in need of an attorney. She’s been turned down by many because no one wants to take on Kaiser. Any thoughts or suggestions for this. Any referral to a possible attorney?

Finding truly co-occurring competent residential treatment programs for young adults is a large challenge. Few programs have the required expertise. Fewer still have the needed quality of service. It is rare that there is insurance coverage and the cost of treatment is quite high.
For residents of Fairfax County, Virginia there may be…[Read more]

Thank you for posting this!
You have great questions and love that you are thinking ahead. I think it is smart to look at getting it set up sooner to save you on your investment in time and money.
I see the clever way you are using the capital R and N in the word to point out that you are a nurse, I like that you are being creative in that way.…[Read more]

I have a local young adult client who is in need of a Residential Treatment Facility that focuses on adoption trauma – Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) and PTSD – that has led to addiction to alcohol and spending money. There is no place in Virginia that truly focuses on mental health driving the addiction. So far my research and networking has…[Read more]

My thought is it doesn’t take six days to get a sensitivity back. It takes 72 hours. Not sure what the six day delay was also, since he has a history of liver disease, I would ask for an ammonia level to rule out other possibilities. ? Brain scan? Since this is not baseline, the ruling out should cover all until cause found in my opinion. Good l…[Read more]

I am mortified by the administrator’s response that this is “normal”. One of the most important things we can do for our elderly clients is to ensure that the care team is well-informed about their baseline. On so many occasions, aging/elderly patients have acute mental status changes that are chalked up to “normal aging” when a detailed workup…[Read more]
