Gail, we had the exact problem you are describing because of my business partner being a physician. Neither Hiscox nor Markel were willing to touch us. I spent HOURS on the phone with them, filling out paperwork that then got rejected. Telling them this is consulting, not actually providing medical service did not work for them, they would just…[Read more]

All good news, Gail! Thanks for your diligence… well done!
Yes – let’s revisit all this after the 1st of the year, and we’ll add this good information to the website.
And by the way… What a GREAT example of advocacy! You went to the wall to figure it out – and isn’t that exactly what an excellent advocate is supposed to do? You kept digging…[Read more]

To update-Trisha, I did contact NSO and it seems I can get reasonable coverage through them. The struggle has been that I am holding their hand and guiding them as opposed to them helping me in this area. That being said, I did reach out to the broker listed in this thread and he and I had an amazing conversation. He said he thinks my policy three…[Read more]

Wow! All of this has been so helpful! I am getting ready to launch my business January 2022 and currently shopping for insurance. I have pharmacy consulting insurance through Pharmacists Mutual so I know that portion is taken care of, however, I am very concerned about E&O insurance. I am registered an a LLC and do not yet have business…[Read more]

Hi Tara – I tested it (as a student) and didn’t have trouble with it – so I’m not sure why you did? (Sometimes there are bugs that pop up only for a moment in time and then resolve, so it’s entirely possible something got in your way, and if you come back later, it won’t.)
However! Here’s the link you need: https://myapha.org/academy/homepage-f…[Read more]

Gail – have you tried NSO? They have always been willing to attach an advocacy rider to their nursing coverage. The info is on the insurance carriers page: https://myapha.org/centers/insurance-for-your-practice/providers/

Has anyone had any clients that you’ve assisted in recovering COBRA Insurance subsides? I’ve a client whose company will not reveal who the plan administrator is that is in charge of reimbursement.
I was thinking of contacting the Department of Labor and filing a complaint on behalf of the client who has completed all of the necessary documents. -

I am finding the struggles to be the fact that I am a licensed RN-even though that should not be an issue when practicing as an advocate. Hiscox and Markel will not write a policy, (nor will any of the companies I made an inquiry with a few months ago), since I am and RN, or even if I was a retired RN. is writing a policy as an RN with an…[Read more]
