This is Step 5 in the process for obtaining the insurance you need for your practice. If you haven’t taken the time to review all the steps, you may miss something important and it may cost you money! Start here if you have not read through all the steps.

All Advocates no matter what services you will offer, and no matter what credentials you hold: | Skyward Specialty Insurance Don Mucci will work with you to determine the price and amount of insurance you will need through Skyward. The annual cost will begin at $1500 and will go higher depending on the services you offer, your licensed credentials, and your geographical location. If you will offer CARE services (such as navigation, eldercare, cancer-related, end-of-life advisor), and you DO NOT hold a medical or advocacy-related license: | Hiscox Hiscox offers an online application, but do be careful to choose the right kind of insurance. Also, they do not offer insurance in every state, so do a search to see if they offer professional liability in your state. If they do not, then contact an independent agent in your state that offers other types of Hiscox insurance to see if you can obtain insurance through them. HPSO Health Professionals Service Organization

NSO Nurses Services Organization NSO is for licensed nurses (only). Regular NSO insurance does not cover advocacy, but it can usually be added. Nurses with NSO coverage are encouraged to ask about an endorsement or rider for advocacy work. https://www.nso.com/ | |

Past Carriers and Brokers
Sometimes companies fall off our carrier list and will no longer provide liability insurance to private advocates. That does not mean they won’t someday change their minds, but you might be able to save yourself some time knowing this status.
