I bill all mileage and travel time over 1/2 hour per day. I have a couple of clients in remote or rural areas and their families gladly pay my travel time because other services are so limited. Usually, after the first one or two visits much can be done remotely though. I’m meeting a family next week in which the parents are 1 1/4 hours away and…[Read more]

Susan, I don’t believe you must terminate your advocacy role. I think you would not want to discontinue that role. If you are the MPOA ( forms for Texas on line and need to be notarized) but you need to keep up you relationship and then speak for the client when she is no longer able too. I believe I have that other advocates who have served as M…[Read more]

I have a client who wants me to be her MPOA. Does anyone have a sample contract that they wouldn’t mind sharing that has the MPOA terminology as well as terminating services for advocacy if taking on the role of MPOA?
Also, does anyone know of a healthcare attorney in Austin, TX? Thank you!

Thank you for the information! I have not yet accepted the client as I suspected this may be extremely difficult or impossible.
I will keep the group updated on this post.

Sorry, I’m just now seeing this! She was told she may have an auto immune disease after a sleep study so rheumatology or endocrinology from what I can tell. Her mother mentioned a cardiologist as well. When I did a search on their site, I can’t locate rheumatology/endocrinology providers at the NM location. I was thinking to then start with…[Read more]

Hello all,
I am working with a client from Pakistan. He is looking for a telehealth consultation with a endocrinologist due to his complicated diabetes. He plans to make a trip to the United States for an inpatient appointment within the next six months.
My question is, will a US physician provide telehealth services to an international client?…[Read more]

First 30 min of travel time on any given day are complimentary. Charged after that. I don’t bill for mileage but do for tolls and parking.

Jill,
I charge for my travel time the same rates as my in-person time as this is time I could be working and helping another client. I do most of my work remotely, however.

Jill,
I charge the same for travel as I do for advocacy because otherwise I am losing money. I also charge for mileage, tolls, etc. Often I use Lyft which is a chargeback. Train is the most common means for my travel as I am just outside NYC.
I always discourage my clients from having me be in person knowing the cost implications and I am…[Read more]

Hello Jill,
I charge a flat fee of $50 for travel, though my contract states I will also bill for mileage and tolls, which I don’t. Or have not done so yet. I do bill for the time I am with a client, but not for the travel time. There are a few reasons for this.
First of all, I feel my rate is high enough to cover travel time. It is my way to show…[Read more] -

I am cuious to know how people handle travel time. Do you charge for travel time and mileage or just one of those?
Thank you,

I increased my rate by 10% and increased mileage to .60/mile. I bill all mileage and travel time greater than 1/2 hour per day.

My site is in WIX and had a refresh design to incorporate new pages, other edits, design tweaks etc. I used a US based FIVERR contractor: Colton Taipale @joyfullydevelop. His communication has been excellent and pricing under $300.00 (he does get booked up!). His specialization is design rather than SEO/content. However, WIX has an easy to follow…[Read more]
