Has anyone had any experience with MDsave. I am trying to help someone find the cheapest option for a CT of chest with contrast. MDsave certainly seems to have the lowest price.

    Thanks,

I am cuious to know how people handle travel time. Do you charge for travel time and mileage or just one of those?

    Thank you,

I am trying to help a 54 year old man find resources to cover the expense of cataract surgery. He does not have insurance and has applied for Medicaid but will not know if he qualifies for 6-9 months. Does anyone know of options for getting the surgery covered. I have reached out to Eye Care America and the Lions Club.

    Thank you,

I would like to do some presentations to educate people about different issues in healthcare while marketing my buisness at the same time. Some ideas I have include “Tips in Navigating Healthcare (easy to add in advocacy) and “Issues with our Healthcare System:. Does anyone have favorite topics that are general enough to reach a variety of audiences?

  • I have been working with a client in a nursing home for about 8 months. She signed a release of information early on for me to have access to her records. I have received information from them up until recently. When I recently asked some questions about her care, I was told that they can no longer give me information except to answer specific…[Read more]

I had a financial planner tell me she tells her clients not to sign a living will if they have healthcare power of attorneys. She said a signed living will is limiting to HCPOA. She agrees there should be discussions about wishes but no signature. Has anyone else heard this?

  • I did!

  • Thanks for providing me some direction.

  • I hope this is an appropriate place to post this. I am a new advocate and am getting “baptized by fire”.
I was hired by an adult child who lives outside of US to check on his 79 yo mom who has been in a Rehab facility following a one month stay in an LTAC post surgery for necrotizing fasciitis. He was in the understanding when he left the country…[Read more]

  • Has anyone marketed their advocacy business at a business expo? I am planning to have my brochures, business cards and a deliverable such as the “Ask Me Three” handout. Any other suggestions? I don’t know if there would be another “goodie” I could hand out.

    Thanks.

  • I am just starting the process of opening a patient advocacy business. I met with an elder law attorney for feedback/input. She suggested I also consider being a professional guardian.
I have read other conversations about the ethics and legality.
I am curious to know if anyone is offering both services under the same business but not…[Read more]
