Hi Lorelei,
I couldn’t agree more. SCORE is one of the best, commonly untapped, organizations available and their insight is priceless. This free service ( often requesting only a small donation ) is available to anyone with an interest in starting a new or restructuring and existing business. Their workshops do provide useful information and…[Read more]

I have been incredibly impressed with the Fox Valley Score Small Business support center. Their workshops are mostly virtual and open to everyone (I’ve joined several). They bring in many specialists for a variety of topics which I’ve really appreciated. They also offer networking groups.

Hello!
I ran across this article and thought you all would enjoy it. It’s a tad dated but proves a point that there are flaws in our healthcare system that desperately need addressed, and the COVID pandemic was like throwing gasoline into a burning fire.
Here’s the article for you to check out: https://www.commonwealthfund.org/publications/podca…[Read more]

Hi Stephanie, thanks so much for organizing this. I am available most evenings anytime after 4:00pm eastern time. I could do mornings but it would have to be no later than 9:00 a.m. which I don’t think would work for the west coast folks.

I have purchased a plan with Ameritas for many years. $97/month for a family and the coverage has been great. I have saved money every year vs paying out of pocket.

Hey Stephanie – I’m available most days, midday to evenings are OK with me. I’m on Mountain time, FYI, so I’d prefer later than 1:00 EST. That said, I’m flexible and just want the opportunity to share our experiences.
Thanks for posting this.

The No Surprises Act requires insurers to cover non-network emergency treatment with the same patient cost-sharing as in-network care. It also prohibits hospitals from billing patients extra. But if the insurer denies that the care was for an emergency or doesn’t obtain documentation to prove that it was, the claim can still be rejected and the…[Read more]

Just a reminder that not everyone uses FB.
Years ago we ran this APHA Discussion Forum (all of Connect!) at LinkedIn – but it turned out we were, in effect, creating a barrier against those who didn’t want to be listed at LinkedIn. (It was a privacy issue. Those who objected were mostly working and didn’t want their employers to know they were…[Read more]

Good question, Michelle.
Regular attendees (those who are not speakers or sponsors) are offered discounts through early registration – a $60 savings – with no coupon needed. Be sure to register and pay by Monday, February 28 to take advantage of that savings. Regular registration begins Tuesday, March 1 – cost is $495. (If you register by Monday,…[Read more]

I’ve used different approaches with different mailing addresses/contact info. Including a virtual address at a business center that offers a front desk person in the event someone wanted to walk in and asked for me. I believe at the time it was $100 a month. I ran a couple other businesses at the time and preferred it. They would just say I’m out…[Read more]
