Came across this article from Stat News and I think it suggests a good marketing approach…. Asking if someone (a current or potential client) has been denied the care they need by their insurer, they might hire you to overcome a denial: https://www.statnews.com/2025/01/23/health-insurance-denial-prior-authorization-help-appeal/

An update from my friend:
She will get a second transvaginal ultrasound and a pelvic ultrasound next week.
She has an initial appt with two days later with an GYN-ONC to go over the results.
If he agrees that she needs to get a biopsy than she will get one probably with a light sedation – monitored anesthesia.
I will post the results of her…[Read more] -

If they do not need someone located in town, I would consider being their financial POA. A lot of the financial aspects can be done remotely with a few site visits. I have a degree in accounting and worked as an accountant for many, many years prior to opening up my independent advocacy business.
They would need a lawyer to set up the paperwork for this.

Hello All – Anne Llewellyn did a study course for APHA. This was before the PAC Board revised the framework and number of competencies, but substantively it is still valid. It’s more a foundations course than an exam practice question type of course but it is chock full of content that could be useful.…[Read more]

If this transitions to remote I would be interested. Or if the case is large enough to pay for it, I will be glad to travel there to meet in person and gather information, then work remotely on the case.

I have found that many clients would rather text or email information rather than deal with a portal. By the time they get to me, they are tired of jumping through hoops.
Portability, the “P” in HIPAA seems to be the overlooked part of that regulation that often seems to have made things way more difficult than they should be.
I offer the choice…[Read more]

Hi Jill – Thanks for this question. Technically, we are not governed by HIPAA because we aren’t considered covered entities, but yes, we agree that you should act in accordance with HIPAA protections. Hi Jill – when I had my own practice, I had a Google workspace account, which was HIPAA compliant. I signed a Business Associate Agreement with Google to protect PHI and maintain HIPAA compliance. You can read more about that here: https://support.google.com/a/answer/3407054?hl=en

Hello all,

These are very painful – I can’t believe they would suggest nothing for an 86 year old. Ask if they can do a paracervical block, the medicine numbs the area and eases pain.
