Thank you for your self assessment, Mary!
Setting up a website can feel very intimidating, just remember it really can be VERY simple to be effective. Making sure you have a landing page that people can find you, with even simple details about you and your services is all that is needed. That and make sure to included that “Call To Action”. I concur with Jeff. Whether you have a policy that covers international care or arrange for travel insurance, you usually need to pay upfront and then have to submit documents for reimbursement. In terms of advocacy services, I am only aware of RCM Health Consultancy- they are based in Toronto and offer in person assistance. Hope this helps.

Some BCBS plans cover out of country. I have personally had medical care while in Canada and my BCBS policy would cover it. I had to pay up front at time of service in Canada, then file with Blue Cross’s Geo Blue service for international claims to be reimbursed.

Hello All,
I’m looking for any advocates that do in-person work in the Toronto (Canada) area. I tried looking through the PACB list and didn’t hear back from the couple folks there/it didn’t seem clear that they were practicing advocates so much as folks getting CE. I check in with one organization, “Canadian Health Advocates”, but they said…[Read more]

After taking the assessment, I think that I am ready to go on many levels. My main strengths are compassion and willingness to advocate on behalf of my client with medical professionals. I enjoy solving problems and taking the best steps to help my client achieve the best life and way back to health. Although I am no shrinking violet, I feel…[Read more]

Hello!
I am working out a way to share a PDF version of the PPT slides from each live lesson. I have a link here for each lesson. I would like to be able to add to it and included the Bonus Session and Final Session after they are completed but I think it will require me to add them as a comment. If that is the case then I will plan to make a…[Read more]

Thanks to all for your very thoughtful responses. I too, think I should give them a few months lead time and I have quit taking new clients. Thankfully, I work w/ a group of dedicated and knowledgeable advocates and know I will leave my clients in good hands.
Again, many Thanks

Hi Miriam,
I have overturned many Medicare Advantage Plan cases when the commercial insurers
will throw the patient out of the rehab even when they are improving. I go before Medicare judges to help my clients.
Involving the empty room charge, I have never seen that in any of my cases.
If you would like to discuss the matter, please call me…[Read more]
