I believe she is shopping for information and is not wanting to actually hire an advocate, although I think an advocate could make a considerable and positive impact on all of the issues surrounding this case. She said she was speaking to other advocates and it is aparrent she has done so. I believe there are a number of us that have the…[Read more]

I was looking for something else when I came upon the mention of a medical records retrieval service.
For all those years I was running APHA, we struggled to find this kind of resource! So I thought I’d share it… and ask if anyone has ever used them? If so, what was your experience?

Gail, Thanks for the update. I am glad you had an opportunity to connect with the sister. Yes, she has already done so much for her sister and is very well informed and active in her care.
Yes, a complicated issue, but definitely manageable with some active communication with the current facility on their behalf. The client expressed wanting to…[Read more]

Thank you both. Client has BCBS – no cancer diagnosis at this time, so thinking a pulmonologist who can manage issues whatever way they go.

Depending on the issue (s) there may be lots of options to support them. As Michael suggested, more details are needed.

I spoke with the sister today. Currently, she is planning on flying out to FL and bringing her sister back to the SF area, (Of course they may fly back but may have to go by car, depending on her sisters true state). Lots of moving parts here-no pun intended. This is a complicated issue, but nothing that cannot be surmounted. The sister is great,…[Read more]

Hi Jeff,
I don’t believe the actual logistics of the transfer are the issue; but the paperwork/communication/legal barriers the sister is faced with when trying to plan for the transfer of care from one psychiatric facility located in one state to another facility. the patient in question is in a psychiatric facility in Florida and the sister does…[Read more] -

Can anyone suggest a top-notch pulmonologist or pulmonary department, ideally in the LA or SF Bay Area? I have a client who needs a second opinion on some changes in lung nodules and related issues.
Thank you –

AnnMarie McIlwain replied to the topic Payment Processing Fee in the forum General Conversation 1 year, 11 months ago
I have always given my clients the choice of Zelle (no fees) or credit card (they absorb the 3.5% Square fees). The majority choose Zelle, some prefer credit card, occasionally I accept checks although Trisha’s comments are a good reminder to stop doing this and my international clients do wire transfers.
