Patient Perspectives: Ehlers Danlos Syndrome with Emily Rubenstein
February 2024 Join us for a discussion with Emily Rubenstein who is here to share her story and help educate the APHA community about hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS). On-Demand Recording: 50 minutes /*! elementor – v3.19.0 – 29-01-2024 */ .elementor-widget-image{text-align:center}.elementor-widget-image a{display:inline-block}.elementor-widget-image a img[src$=”.svg”]{width:48px}.elementor-widget-image img{vertical-align:middle;display:inline-block} Emily Rubenstein was diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and endometriosis in 2022 after years of searching for an explanation for her chronic and worsening symptoms. Given how challenging her own experience has been, she is interested in how she can help others with chronic illness—diagnosed and yet to be diagnosed—advocate for themselves and receive the care they deserve. Emily works at the Aspen Institute, where she leads the Food Leaders Fellowship and previously supported the Health Innovators Fellowship. Prior to Aspen, she worked in educational testing and research. Emily received her bachelor’s from Harvard, where she studied education policy.https://vimeo.com/917979626 Additional Resources Emily’s talk at the Externally Led Patient-Focused Drug Development Meeting CINK Center PRISM Spine & Joint: Home – P.R.I.S.M. That is exciting! I am glad that you decided to look more into it, Jackie.
Yes! The the course offered in practice up would be a great tool to use when studying for the exam!
I used a different course to help prepare that is no longer available. This APHA course was developed more recently and was not available when I was studying.
I will…[Read more]

I now realize that I do want to be board certified. Is the class on APHA the best way to learn and prepare for the test?
Any suggestions are welcomed! -

Stephanie Schulz, BCPA replied to the topic Question RE: CEU for BCPA in the forum APHA Academy 100 Days to Launch <br>(Spring 2024) 1 year, 7 months ago
Hi, Lisa!
Great question and it can be confusing!Yes, that is correct. Completing the final lesson in each course, will award you the CEU certificate. If you are not yet certified and plan to be, then it would be best to wait since they won’t accept any CEUs that were completed prior to your certification date. For anyone who may already be a…[Read more]

Wonderful assessment and some very thought provoking questions you raise within your list of weaknesses. The good news is you also listed problem solver and work ethic as strengths! Confidence will come with time and more exposure. I remember the first few calls that came in I would feel sick to my stomach with nerves! I am excited to…[Read more]
