Yes Julie! You just need a physical address in the state in which you’ll provide the services. I’ll be my own registered agent also.

Hi Emily,
Your BIL’s law firm is an official registered agent? I suppose so.
I was planning to get a PO Box on Friday. The PO Box allows you to use the street address of the post office – and I would use that as my business address on my website. But it’s still a PO Box and California does not allow formation of LLCs with PO Boxes.
Neither can…[Read more]

Hi Stephanie,
Looks like I can do this is California as well. However, I live in a condo and not a house and oftentimes mail gets mis-delivered among all the unit boxes. I’m also not available all the time to personally receive critical mail documents. Your post is helping me think things through.

Hi Emily,
Some things I’d like to read in someone’s (wink) blog:
How does a medical bill get created?
Are there legal requirements for what every medical bill must contain?
What are codes and what do they mean?
How long after my medical service is rendered must I be presented with a bill?
How does a biller determine a due date and are due dates…[Read more] -

Thanks Dalia!
I believe that a dedicated cell phone number (if not a separate phone as well) will be important for me too. I want to know that when my business number rings itβs going to be someone inquiring about my services, a spam call, or a misdial wanting me to deliver them a pizza. I just want to be in a business frame of mind when the b…[Read more]

Hi, Julie!
I wanted a second cell phone, to know exactly if the call is from a client or my family and friends. And also wanted a tablet with internet instead of looking wi-fi or hot spot connections for the laptop while traveling to visit clients, which may not be very secure. I thought in a prepaid cell phone, but the devices had to be paid in…[Read more]

Hi Everyone,
Have you given any thought to the business phone(s) issue. Are you going to have a dedicated cell phone number for your business, are you going to carry a second cell phone with you (or combine 2 different numbers into one phone β like some iphone models allow, are you going to have a business landline?
Also, have you thought a…[Read more]

I do think a blog will be helpful to my overall marketing efforts. It might entice visitors to stay on my website a bit longer, it should demonstrate particular areas of knowledge, demonstrate consistency and will help keep the website fresh for SEO.
The blog will be on my business website as one of the menu items. Iβm going to name it, The J…[Read more]

Dalia…wow, just wow! I love what you wrote. It’s amazing! I’m definitely taking this from you. It’s too good not to take it!
The only thing is would change is that I would remove “as you may have experienced”. You’re already saying that he has experienced it by saying, “the reason you aren’t getting what you need”. Other than that, it is…[Read more]

Great points to consider, Dalia!
I completely understand being protective of your personal life, it is very needed!
About the different domains. I did purchase three myself. I have them all directed to one so that if someone types things a bit differently they will still go where I want them to. Purchasing those additional domains in my case…[Read more]

Good evening!
Just finished lesson 16 and yes, is pretty overwhelming. Since the entity to whom I requested an insurance quote requested me an official website, I used GoDaddy to buy the domain and develop a preliminary website also. But only chose the domain I wanted and ending with .com. Although they provided a discount when buying several…[Read more]

Hi!
I just saw Lesson 15, and I understand what Emily is saying. I think the problem is that Lesson 15 should be updated to include additional options since Medicare is currently covering a type of advocacy. It would be helpful if all of private advocates have a uniform line of thought about what to say to a client that objects because at least…[Read more]

Hi, ladies!
As I wrote previously, I’m way behind the Academy courses, so I just finished lesson 14.
Emily, I totally agree with Julie, my favorite was the first pitch you posted. What she says is true, people have more attention to issues related to health and money than with other trivial issues, as the ones presented in the related article.…[Read more]

I use my brother-in-law’s work. As a registered agent, you have to be able to receive mail at all times. That wasn’t going to work for me,, since I like to travel. My brother-in-law is an attorney, so his law firm receives mail at all times. That’s what works for me.

Hi Julie!
Wisconsin also uses a registered agent and in my case it is me, myself and I.
The requirements for Wisconsin is I have to list my physical address with my state. I think I mentioned that in one of our earlier sessions. I use my P.O. Box for all of my contact information but if anyone really wanted to find me and where I live they…[Read more]

California requires the use of a registered agent to start an LLC. I’ve seen some prices from $29 up to $300 per year. Is anyone using a registered agent and how did you choose one? How are you finding the experience?
Thanks,
Julie
