It just occurred to me that I should be able to access Practice UP learning for the 100 days to launch. My dashboard is not showing the 100 days to launch lessons. Please let me know what I need to do.

Thanks Steph! Wow, 3 competitive dancers in the house! I never danced competitively – I grew up mostly doing modern dance – and now just love to dance any chance I can get. I truly believe in the healing power of movement – I highly recommend Gaga classes (https://www.gagapeople.com/en/) and Yoga Dance.

Strengths: I’m a creative problem-solver/puzzler and thrive on challenges. I’m flexible, empathetic, a good listener and enjoy helping and advocating for people.
Weaknesses: I’m working on setting more boundaries – saying “no” to more clients. In my profession I usually wear a lot of hats and am used to working independently, but I know I’ll n…[Read more]

One more thought, if your client is of sound and stable mind to be able to request you be added to the telemedicine visit (should this be an option), this may come across as more acceptable. Just a thought.

Cynthia,
This is great! Active listening is SO important. Your clients will feel very supported when they feel heard! Being creative and thinking outside the box is fun and necessary but you are right, sometimes the answer is right in front of you and we may sometimes think, is that a trick question because it was a simple fix after all! Your…[Read more]

Lawanda,
This is a great assessment! Being a creative problem solver will come in handy in this role for sure! I am sure you expect to find yourself facing a lot of challenges even with your experience in the healthcare system. I feel like I am always surprised with the new challenges that come up based on the uniqueness of each client and I too…[Read more]

Thank you for your assessment! Many of the strengths you listed are so vital and it is great that you have those already in place and likely they came naturally to you. Those are the types of things that are more difficult to “teach” to people. Billing, claims, bookkeeping can more easily be taught and learned, I also have no doubt with time and…[Read more]

I am so sorry to hear about your own health difficulties, I am sure it has taught you a lot about navigating the system to get what you need! How wonderful that you also have such rich experiences helping your mother through her journey, these experiences will definitely help you!

My strengths are all of the emotional, non-tangible aspects of being a PA (empathy, professionalism, creativity, problem solving, chutzpah, self-discipline, patience, etc). As a pulmonologist I am well versed in how the health care systems work and find myself “navigating” patients through complex tasks and crossroads with even things outside of…[Read more]
