Welcome Anne! What an interesting background you have in organ donation – perhaps a good niche for your advocacy? Very interesting (and no surprise) that despite your many years of working in healthcare, you felt like you didn’t understand the system when you were confronted with your father’s challenges. I had the same experience with my dad,…[Read more]

However! BCPA certification does not come from or through APHA*. It is offered by and earned…[Read more]

Good afternoon everyone,
My name is Anne Krueger and I have worked in healthcare for the past 23 years. I have a nursing background and worked at the bedside for 2 years before I moved in the field of organ and tissue donation. My interest in advocacy work began a little over 2 years ago when me and my family walked along side of my Dad through…[Read more]

Hello…I started my Advocacy Business 7 years ago and in August it will be 8 years. I want to become certified and wondering if any of you just took the test or how I should prepare. It looks like the courses now are for those starting a business. Appreciate your feedback.

Hello All,
My name is Melanie Parks, I recently moved to Atlanta, GA in late 2020 and love it. Having not a clue at all, but wanting to get started, I originally registered my LLC in Massachusetts because I thought it would be easier to get clients in a location that I was more familiar with and then looking to establish LLC in GA. Would love…[Read more]

Wow, I don’t know what has been going on, but I have been working with Kyle the past few years and he reached out to me to ask if I wanted to renew my E&O insurance. Because I didn’t have any changes in my business, I was renewed by Markle in Jan. 2022, and Kyle was very responsive. Also responsive when I had a question in the middle of 2021. I…[Read more]

I also listened to the call-in with Marshall, and was not surprised by how thoughtful he has been in putting together these steps for fighting exorbitant or wrong medical bills and also in helping people.
I have taken a few clients to help them fight small mistakes that have cost them a few hundred dollars, not to make money on, but because I…[Read more]

BTW–college health plans for students are usually really good and really cheap. I know people who have enrolled in the minimum number of hours so that they can access this insurance! And there might be a way to keep both their home state Medicaid + the college plan?
(College plans are more local usually—I know when one of my daughters was…[Read more]

Chris replied to the topic Medicaid Pharmacy Benefits when Out of State in the forum General Conversation 3 years, 6 months ago
Medicaid does not cover prescriptions filled at out of state pharmacies. Depending on the medication, there may be an option for the pharmacy in their home state to fill and mail (or otherwise deliver) the medication to the student’s college address.
A family member may be able to fill the prescription (again depending on the medication) and send…[Read more] - Load More
