The managed care provider has no providers (Home Care Companies) who will accept Medicaid so the patient cannot get the services. I have ask for a single case agreement to use a Medicare or commercial…[Read more]

Good morning!
I just want to keep everyone posted on this topic, since this is a common scenario with out-of-network specialist. I assisted this client with going through the appeal process to get Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) to pay in-network rates, and after going through many hoops, it was successful! While working through this process,…[Read more]

Don’t wait on any transplant team, as nationwide there are more organ transplant candidates than there are available organs. Each insurance policy has its own network of transplant providers. As soon as you identify the AZ insurance, I suggest reviewing and understanding that policy’s organ transplant in-network providers. Identify a few, as it…[Read more]

Hi Sylvia,
Elise is one of the extremely lucky individuals who reached 10-year survival after Stage 4 disease!
PanCan is a wonderful resource, one I recommend to all my pancreatic cancer patients. If only everyone with this dreadful disease can surmount it.Thanks for the link.

Hi Cathy, from my experience, the transplant case managers at the insurance company I worked for was very involved in all the logistics in this kind of situation. Assuming the care team supports the move, her transplant case manager should be researching and planning all that is required. Lots of moving parts….
Glad they have you to support them 🙂

For future referance:
These are the steps I would go through initially.
Find out if the client is listed in their state… How complicated is moving from a medical standpoint.
Ask care team their opinion on relocating
If they feel it is safe for the client to move ask them to contact the transplant centers in the destination city/state to see if…[Read more] -
