Overview of SIGs: FAQs about APHA Special Interest Groups
• What is a SIG?
Because our members have such a wide variety of interests and marketing niches, because we all learn well from colleagues, and because members enjoy networking with others who share their interests, APHA is pleased to host a variety of SIGs: Special Interest Groups.
• Who can participate in a SIG?
All APHA members are invited to join and participate in any and all SIGs as their interests warrant.
• How can I participate in a SIG?
Just jump in! Choose a SIG of interest and link to its Discussion Forum or Resources page. (Find links at right.)
• What does “participate” mean? What do SIGs do?
SIG activities vary by group. Depending on the SIG, there may be a discussion forum, a list of shared resources, and some SIGs conduct regular networking phone calls. You are invited to participate in any and all SIG activities.
• How can I indicate interest in a SIG that has been proposed (probably through a notice in APHA Agenda)?
Fill out the second part of this form that asks you to indicate your interest.
• How can I suggest a new topic for a SIG?
Find here the requirements and access to the request form.
