Good evening! We have had an advocate join Outreach, and we are so excited. She is going to take the BCPA exam in March. When I took the exam, I used the Care Excellence program which was such a great study course. Is there a study course you would recommend? If not, what other things, books, presentations, podcasts, study groups, etc… that…[Read more]

Thank you for the feedback Cheryl! I like the idea of the 33% and then 50% with overnight and weekend hours. I really appreciate it. Thank you! Hope business is going well for you.

All points above are valid and should be considered.
If she has fluid buildup it’s likely in the cul de sac and they would use a needle to aspirate some by going through the upper vaginal wall into that area. If they aren’t lucky they may have to approach laparoscopically through the abdominal wall. Might not be worse than an endometrial biopsy,…[Read more]

As AnnMarie mentioned, it is important to get this checked out. However, COPD can create serious complications under general anesthesia. Local or regional anesthesia is preferred in those cases, if appropriate. I am wondering if light sedation can be used in this case instead. A pre-op consult with the anesthesiologist would be surely warranted…[Read more]

Doctors have a long history of minimizing women’s pain, particularly in the reproductive anatomy. Thus, I would not recommend without anesthesia. If she is not suffering from dementia, she will most likely be fine with the anesthesia based on what I observed with an 87 year old client in CA who had endometrial cancer and required two biopsies.

An 86 year old female had a transvaginal ultrasound & they found fluid.
She saw two physicians who both agreed she should have a biopsy.
Option from two physicians thus far:
1) have a light anesthesia – per a female physician
2) have it done in his office without anesthesia – per a male physician who he told her she would just have a little…[Read more] -

I charge 33% more for in-person services w/ <24 hour notice, 8a-8p and 50% more 8p-8a. BTW, I don’t provide transportation for clients as I feel it’s too much liability. I’ll meet them at home and travel with them or meet them at the care site.

Good morning! I hope you all had a nice holiday! I have a question about contracts. Over the last two weeks, I have had to take people to the emergency room. One was last night at 10:30 pm. Do you have different charges for same day emergency services or nights or weekend charges? I am thinking of charging 1-1/2 times my normal rate for…[Read more]

Hello friends,
We have a client who resides in NY and needs to update her medical coverage to cover specific types of surgery in the upcoming months. Is there an advocate in this group or someone you would recommend that could work with her before the end of the open enrollment period in NY?
Would appreciate any suggestions.
Many thanks an…[Read more]

What is most important is getting your home base and communications set up and you go from there. Depending on the type of services you offer to the patient, you…[Read more]
